Why Your MSP Needs a Strong About Page (And What to Include)

The About page is where trust is decided

Your homepage might get the first click, but your About page often gets the deciding click.

When a prospect is interested but not fully convinced, they go looking for reassurance. They want to know you are real, that you understand businesses like theirs, and that you will be a safe pair of hands. If your About page is thin, generic, or full of buzzwords, it creates doubt. And doubt kills enquiries.

The good news is that a strong About page does not need to be long or complicated. It just needs to answer the questions prospects are already asking in their head.

What prospects are really looking for

Most people do not visit your About page by accident. They click it because they are trying to work you out.

They are thinking things like:

  • Are these people genuine?
  • Do they work with businesses like mine?
  • Will they be easy to deal with?
  • Are they experienced enough to trust?
  • What makes them different from the other MSPs I have looked at?

If your About page helps them feel confident, you are far more likely to get the call, the form fill, or the reply.

What to include on a strong MSP About page

A good About page is not a corporate biography. It is a trust builder. Here is what to include.

1. A clear opening that says who you help

Start with a simple statement that makes it obvious who you work with and what you do. Avoid vague lines that could belong to any MSP.

For example, instead of “We deliver innovative IT solutions,” say something like:
“We provide managed IT support and cyber security for growing businesses across [location], with a focus on fast support and long-term partnerships.”

That one line helps the right prospect feel they are in the right place.

2. Your story, but only the relevant parts

People like to know who they are dealing with, but keep it focused. Share why you started the business, what problem you saw in the market, and what you believe an MSP should do differently.

This is where your values come through, and values matter when someone is choosing a long-term IT partner.

3. What makes you different, in plain English

Most MSP websites sound the same. Your About page is a great place to explain what makes you different in a way a business owner will understand.

This could be your approach to support, your focus on prevention, your onboarding process, or the way you communicate without jargon. Be specific. If you say you are “customer focused,” explain what that looks like day to day.

4. Proof that backs it up

Trust needs proof. Add client logos, a short testimonial, review ratings, certifications, or a link to a case study. Even one strong testimonial with a real name and company can do more than a page of claims.

5. The people behind the business

People buy from people. If you can, include real photos of your team, even if it is just you and one or two others. Add names, roles, and a short line about what each person does. It makes your MSP feel real and approachable.

6. What it is like to work with you

This is the part most MSPs miss. Prospects want to know what happens after they get in touch.

Add a simple section that explains your process, such as discovery, onboarding, and what support looks like. It reduces uncertainty and makes it easier to say yes.

7. A clear next step

Do not end your About page with nothing. Give the reader a clear action, like booking a call, requesting a quote, or asking a question. Keep it low pressure and easy.

A few common mistakes to avoid

If you want quick wins, avoid these:

  • Writing a generic About page that could belong to any MSP
  • Using too much jargon or talking about tools instead of outcomes
  • Making big claims with no proof
  • Hiding the people behind the business
  • Forgetting a clear call to action
